Her name is Jane.
Jane's love of craft started as a wee child. Like the creatures of Hazel Village, she was always making things: clothes, dolls, toys. Her favorite books were about characters who made everything they needed: Brambly Hedge, Cinderella, and Laura Ingalls.
Jane's first job out of college was as a children's toy designer. It was fun, but... what about the old soul kids, she thought. Or the kid makers & pioneers?
So Jane revisited some sketches she had done years before. It was for a wondrous woodland community where animals do industrious projects for one another. It made her smile. So in 2010, out of the attic of her house, Hazel Village was born. And children everywhere rejoiced.
